It happens In A DREAM

Legal thriller king John Grisham (The Firm) mates with romance genre queen Nora Roberts (The Next Always). Because it’s only a dream, Nora also wraps with mob master Mario Puzo (The Godfather). The child they spawn creates terrific pleasure reading for any beach or comfort zone and is named Frederick Schofield.

Our editors recommend starting with The Boardwalkers.  Some characters dash through both Schofield books and it's best meeting this way.

Author GREETINGS

So you think you know Atlantic City.  A few of us really may.  Some may even know the way it really was, the way it could or should have been, and what tomorrows bring.

For years, I represented more sex workers in this seashore gambling resort than any other lawyer, meaning I defended more hookers than any lawyer in the world.  They weren't the only souls who found my office.  Perhaps I was a species of champion for the good and the gutter snipes.

I truly know the town and all my characters from living and loving there.  That was when grand casinos flashed unique glamour in the world's bus capitol.  Dig into my insights. Happy reading!

4.6 Stars out of 5 for 2nd Edition at Amazon, Barnes&Noble, Good Reads

  • 5 out of 5-stars: This is a terrific story. Sometimes it felt as if I was watching "Boardwalk Empire Part II." The story picks toward the end of prohibition in the late 1920s and early 1930s, where the HBO "Boardwalk Empire" series ends, and takes you to the birth and high times of Atlantic City casinos in the late 1990s. And what an amazing story Schofield tells! Highly recommended.

  •  5 out of 5 stars for “A compelling murder mystery that you can't put down once you begin! WOW! Once you begin this book you are pulled in and never let go! With the plot and so many sub-plots . . . so many threads which all come together in a surprising ending you just can't stop turning pages.”

  • 5 out of 5 stars for “An excellent and fast paced read! Both the book and the author are new to me and I can honestly say this was one of the best books I've read.”

  • 5 out of 5 stars: “Exciting and well written. I really enjoyed reading 'The Boardwalkers.' There was a lot going on in this novel, but the author handled all the different threads and scenarios perfectly, so I was never confused and always eager to see what would happen next. Schofield is particularly good with characters. There are quite a few, and each is unique, with a distinct personality. No stock, one-dimensional characters here.
